Starting a position as an REPE analyst: looking for technical preparation and overall advice

Hey all - really appreciate the advice on this forum - has really helped me orient myself around REPE and made for a seamless recruiting experience. I wanted to make a post just asking for any general advice or things to keep in mind as I transition towards REPE. For context, I graduated from a T5 school in the U.S. around 2 years ago and majored in math - after graduating, joined a bulge-bracket bank in NYC doing technology M&A for about a year and half - had even signed an offer to do large-cap PE after my analyst stint was over. Unfortunately, had a close family member really struggling with some health issues and had to take some time off, which of course, led to my PE offer being rescinded. After about a year or so back at home, decided to get back in the job market and focus exclusively on RE (always had a strong interest here). I've signed on to work at a middle-market REPE firm as an senior analyst. Was wondering if you guys had any advice when it came to preparing, general career trajectory/advice or any other thoughts. Also had a few more specific questions:

1) The firm I'm joining does some distressed/opportunistic investing, with the ability to look at investing in debt as well. Most of my experience has been equity investing or plain-vanilla "LBO" style investing. I was wondering if anyone could suggest any resources to look at more thorny, creative, and/or distressed RE investing, with a particular focus on debt.

2) Have already ran through a good number of the Breaking into CRE (Justin Kivel) courses, which have been great but was wondering if anyone had any other general resources to read before starting.

Thanks so much and hope ya'll are having a great start to the week.
