Starting CRE Career in Special Servicing

I know there’s an older thread that addresses this somewhat, but I’m curious to hear more about the special servicing side of real estate, career trajectories, stability, etc. Is it a good place to start your career? What do exit opportunities look like? Is it more or less stable than traditional roles (acquisitions, asset management, debt origination, etc.)? I just can’t really find much information online, wondering if people here can shed more light into it.
