Starwood Capital - do they take undergrads for Analyst positions? Any tips on applying / networking?
Sounds like a great company and would love to start there... just not sure if they would take someone right out of undergrad.
They do, you better be at Wharton/Cornell/Harvard and/or be very well connected though

They’re VERY biased. If you are not from an Ivy League or notable private university with a 3.5 GPA then your chances aren’t good.
Do they pay well compared to IB and other PE firms?
Their compensation is up there with the best in the industry.
Investment team analysts pay is at or above street, ~160-170 all-in excluding expense reimbursements.
Is this for first years or where is this from?
Does anyone know if their pickiness for candidates is the same across the board? Like not just for straight out of UG 1st year analysts, maybe those with some work experience, or people going for VP roles?
I mean I’ve had a conversation with a current VP there and another senior executive. I get the vibe that the only look for Ivy league type college grads for analyst or associate roles. The only alternative is to transition there from another respectable, brand name REPE platform. Doesn’t have to necessarily be Blackstone but maybe something like BlackRock, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, etc. Yeah I know this sucks. Personally, I can see why there is no diversity there because their requirements typically lead you to a specific kind of candidate.
