Thoughts on Aviva Investors Real Estate Division (UK/EMEA)

For anyone with knowledge of the European RE Investment sphere, what is the reputation of Aviva RE within the industry?

Any knowledge of exit opps and compensation etc for graduates working on a combination of acquisitions, Asset Management and fund management? (American monkeys might be able to give an indication of exit opps from comparable positions. Is opportunistic REPE acq. with a top shop a realistic prospect post-qualification/experience with a life co.)

For those unfamiliar with Aviva, they are a large full-service insurer whose funds are managed by Aviva Investors, which also manages 3rd party funds. Aviva Investors operate the 6th largest RE fund offering in Europe based on AUM which is largely focussed on core/value add.

Seen some people go to CBRE and then to REPE. Haven’t seen many go to MF REPE (blackstone etc) I think they still prefer people from banking.

I’ve seen some people head to REPE from Aviva, but not as many as you might think. Probably would be doable when you reach the assistant PM level or PM level don’t think it’d be easy at junior levels unless preceded by an MSc/MBA

Interested to hear what other people have to say about this topic.
