Transitioning from IB to RE
Does anyone have any experience going from traditional IB (coverage group) to REIB, REPE, or a REIT? How common is it, how easy to do, etc?

Shops like CIM are filled with BB guys. They prefer the banking background and figure they could just teach them them the real estate.
Not as hard as the other way around. So that's good. You'll have to start pretty junior though.
Agreed. I've seen guys in REPE or development who came from non-RE i-banking. I wouldn't say it's super-common, but nobody is going to say you're not smart enough to do real estate given your background working on TMT deals or whatever.
