What companies are the peers of BlackRock?

Who are BlackRock's peers and what companies are a tier above, and below them in terms of AUM/prestige/compensation etc.

What would be the comp starting from Analyst to Associate to VP?

And, what would be an Associates or VP's typical Exit Opps?

Thanks!

In regard to RE: they are growing their PE platform, as can be seen with the MGPA acquisition. However, LPs have a long memory, and their JV with Tishman for PC Village/Stuytown is still regarded by many as the worst CRE deal in history.

Please don't quote Patrick Bateman.
