What is your go to font for Excel models?

Arial 10, don't be extra

Calibri. Serifs are for dense text, otherwise you want that clean look

Calibri. I find tasteful corner-rounding and subtle playfulness just the thing to take the edge off the numbers.

Other questions:

• negative numbers: negative sign or parentheses?
• dollar formatting: currency, accounting, or general?
• commas: yes or no?

Random preferences:

• Century Schoolbook for docs
• emails in plain text
• no Word / PDF attachments when the text can be reasonably added to the body of the email
• if table data inside a Word doc is necessary, tabs over embedded tables (if tabs too complicated you should probably just link to Excel file)

As for negative numbers, I show them with parentheses in red.

Depends on use case but I like Futura or Century Gothic. Easy to read.

For work, Arial 10, zoomed 80%, which is pretty standard in the industry. Can't stand models that use Calibri. For my personal Excel workbooks, I also use Segoe UI 11, it has much more spacing compared to Arial and hence is easier to look at; Garamond 12 also produces aesthetic-looking spreadsheets.

Just discovered Trebuchet MS because someone sent me a "model" they downloaded off of MS Office.. Actually, the font was quite nice.

Arial Narrow is underrated.

Left the Calibri gang when I went to a firm that used Times. My current one uses Palatino Linotype, and I’m serif fonts for life.  
 

Also, I started using Garamond for my resume a few years ago and never looked back. 

Times New Roman??? Do you have a foot fetish and want little tiny feet on all of your letters????

Times new roman for some things are good but for an excel model, straight boner killer.
