What questions should I expect in a Private Equity Real estate Internship Interview ?
Hello all ! As the title states I have an interview with a small private equity real estate firm next week. I am trying to find out what questions I should expect and how I should prepare. I can't find much on the forum so If someone can give a lending hand that would be great.

My background is not traditional. Poli Sci with business minor for undergrad.

Compared to IB, it really really depends on the firm and interviewer. Some might ask you technicals for 20 minutes straight and 5 minutes of behaviorals. Some might be all questions about you. I would try to google "Real estate private equity interview questions" and jot those down. A search on this forum helps find commonly asked questions too.
Definitely know: Why real estate? --> If you really know nothing about real estate, be sure to show a genuine interest.
What is NOI?
What is a cap rate?
If they have investments they made on their website or on the news, ask them about it. Or if they have their strategy laid out. Hope that helps!

Most of the time first round interviews are mostly about fit. Spend most of your prep time answering questions like:
1. Why are you interested in this position?
2. Why are you interested in our company?
3. What do you know about our company?
4. How will your past experiences transfer to this job?
5. What separates you from your peers?
And of course, work on your tell me about yourself! Tell a story. Make it interesting and be genuine.
