CV Help- College Athlete

Hello guys

First post for me, in a months time I will be an international athlete at a NCAA Div. 1 school in New York (think Fordham, Wagner etc). I will major in Finance, and I am well aware that the competition to secure an internship on Wall Street is brutal. Hence, I want to start as early as possible with the application processes
I have never written a CV and I wonder how much I should focus on the athletic part. I am one of the best athletes in my sport in my home country, decent SAT (1320 on Math and Critical Reading), GPA of 3.6, and I have had two summer jobs.

How would you all recommend me to organise it? Eduation followed by Athletic and then Work?

I appreciate all help!

While you are still in school it is school stats, work/internships, then athletics/extracurricular. The focus of your athletics/extras section isn't necessarily on how great of an athlete you are, it is to supplement the first two pieces of the resume. It's saying, "hey, i had a solid GPA, i interned here, spent my free time volunteering/saving the world AND i had this 30/hr+ week commitment and performed at a high level." I would construct your athletics section to help strengthen the qualities you are trying to portray in the first two parts.

Sure, putting "1st Team All-American" is great, don't get me wrong, but it's just as great to put "1st Team All-Conference Academic Team" and all the outreach you are a part of. No one is going to hire you for being a great athlete, it's just part of your overall story.

Also, take leadership in an outreach activity for your team and/or start an outreach activity (get the whole athletic department involved). All kinds of bonus points.

This to all my hatin' folks seeing me getting guac right now..
