Freshman CV good enough for summer internship?
Hi everyone, I will be entering my 1st year of uni this month and am applying for ibanking/PE summer internships now. However, I'm not sure if my CV is up to par and whether it can compete with the year 2's who will also be applying. Please feel free to give harsh feedback or tips to help me improve! I am very thankful!

Just saw your linkedin profile on google with a search of your username. I assume that you are trying to apply for ibanking/pe internships in the UK. I understand that it is good to start early in the internship process. However, you would need to consider about what value can you add by joining the ibanking / pe firm. I was in a similar position like you before and the general feedback I have is freshmen generally cannot bring much value to the firm and there is no reason why they should train you assuming that you are not staying for the long term.
The only scenario where I had seen freshmen getting investment banking internships is that they offer to work unpaid and they will be staying for long term e.g 1/2 year with the firm (usually they will work about 3 days a week during the school term and 6 days during their holidays).
On the other hand, there is no harm practicing cold-calling and networking firms at the moment as well. I would recommend you you read M&I and use the template provided as well. Lastly, regarding your resume, try to rephrase such that it is more result oriented. If you are unable to find any IB/PE internship, I would recommend looking into wealth management or smaller asset management firms and network your way around.
