IBD RESUME QUESTION
Hi guys, I'm a junior looking for an investment banking internship, and I'm wondering what method is best because I've heard 2 schools of thought. Resume in chronological order completely, or most relevant experiences first? I have 1 experience that I did part time during this school year sandwiched between my more relevant summer internships.
I think its important to list them chronologically. Although the most relevant ones are important, the others could be equally as important and be over looked if they are mixed in.
Chronological.
Lol at the first two comments. How's it going to look when you list:
---Chick-Fil-A, Chicken Maker
---Boeing, Financial Analyst
---Merrill Lynch, Wealth Management Division
-
although it's not nearly that extreme (all of them are business related, but my part time position is marketing not finance so not as related to IBD), with that example, i currently have it as:
---Boeing, Financial Analyst ---Merrill Lynch, Wealth Management Division ---Chick-Fil-A, Chicken Maker
if i did it chronologically, it would be:
---Boeing, Financial Analyst ---Chick-Fil-A, Chicken Maker ---Merrill Lynch, Wealth Management Division
The other thing is, my position 2 summers ago is actually my strongest on the resume (pretty quantitative, etc). If I did it chronologically, it would be the 3rd experience on my resume. Do you still think it's best to do it chronologically?
Thanks for the help guys
Just saw this, yes you still need chronology, just use the most space for the strongest one.
