My resume- I think it's good, but can you make it better?

Hi everyone,

I try not to make these threads too often, and this is actually my first time. Long time lurker though, so I think my resume should be WSO/M&I approved.

Sorry for all the censers. If it's too distracting, please let me know and I'll make another one.

basic info: I go to a regional target I interned at a small boutique this past summer

and that's it! Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

EDIT: thanks for the comments, they were very helpful! i've removed the link for the sake of recruiting season.

G.M.TrevelyanReally you're listing Cold Calling?

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.

Thanks blastoise, appreciate it.

Haha yeah I was debating that. When I was making my resume sophomore year, my advisor said it was a good idea, so I added it, especially because I felt I didn't have any 'real skills' besides being proficient in another language. I mean, I know Microsoft Office doesn't really count either, but I just added it to fill space lol. I'll remove it.

YushinOkamiWhy the fuck does this resume use a proprietary template that I've used for 3 years? I highly doubt that this person is a member of the HBAA at Richard Ivey School of Business at The University of Western Ontario. Fuck off OP.

Lol what? An upperclassmen gave me their resume couple years ago, and I basically copied his format. What's wrong with it?

I find it very suspicious that only hours after i post my resume, another resume with an almost identical style (same kind of raised lettering, spacing after line, font, etc) show up...

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Also, stop being a douche.

Also, hardly "proprietary"...

"For I am a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Bloody Mary full of vodka, blessed are you among cocktails. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death, which I hope is soon. Amen."

Definitely looks 'proprietary' to me...

To OP: I think 'Summer Analyst Intern' is indented a little too far (not sure if this is a Razume formatting issue) Not a big fan of having 'cold calling' listed and I'd reword 'experience with Bloomberg terminal' May 2014 graduation? So this would be for SA positions?

WallStreetOasis.comsolid...any financial modeling experience though? Don't see enough buzzwords in your experience section of IBD but with your GPA and awards you should get interviews. Just be ready, because then GPA doesnt really matter.

Unfortunately, I did not get as much modeling experience as I would have liked. I was a sophomore, and I think they brought me in a little too slowly. But hopefully M&I/WSO guides will be enough for the interviews.

Good catch! It was indented 1 space too much to the right. Wish I had your attention to detail lol. And yeah its for SA positions.

RichardPennybagsHey guys, could somebody tell me what the name of that font is?

It's garamond.

Solid. No need for bullets in your skills/interests section. NSCS isn't really considered prestigious or an award (it's like Who's Who... no merit per se), so I don't know about putting it on..

Question for everyone: memoranda or memorandums? Have always used the former but it seems the latter is accepted. Not sure which is appropriate.
