Resume Format - Should I stick with something more common
Is there a certain style/format one should adhere to for the resume?(applying for summer analyst position this winter) Mine currently has the subheadings in the center like the Wharton resumes. Should I stick to something more common?

For some time now I have been working on two separate resume formats...the one my business school requires and a separate IB format that I found online.
Have any of you found success with particular formats that you found on your own rather than through your school?
yes - it makes sense that the format you use should be tailored to you experience. After all, you need to fit your format to your content, not fit your content to your format...

You should honestly just stick with one, if you have a finance background stick with a single format and roll with it.
Even in the MBA admissions (assume that's what you're talking about) they make you go through details anyway so its not a big deal... Why you're getting an MBA in the first place though now thats the head scratcher.

Just wondering what are some good formats for resumes...I follow my school's Business one, but it's quite ordinary. Education, Honors, Experience, Activities, Skills. Boring.
Looking for some input as to what employers look for outside of content? If I make the background of certain text gray, it stands out, but will it look unprofessional? Looking for some unique additions that I could implement into mine..as I'll have a stronger experience set after this summer for full time.

Aside from content, though, I would say if you're still in school you should go with the typical:
Contact info Education Work Experience Skills Activities/Honors/Other Interests
None of that formatting stuff really makes much of a difference... in the end when I look at resumes, I look at the content and whether it seems like you are a fit for the job. I only spend around 30 seconds reading your resume. .. and I've never picked someone because of the border color etc.
The biggest formatting problems I see are:
1) Too little content and too much empty space 2) Too much content and very crowded
Avoid either of these and go for something in the middle. It's hard for me to say in the abstract what's too crowded vs. too empty but try to describe every experience in good detail and have at least 3-4 bullets for your main internships/work experiences.
If I had to pick, I'd say it would be better to be slightly too crowded vs. slightly empty.
