Rising Senior Resume - Canadian University that has a target business program

Hey monkeys,

I know we're all busy and unfortunately I think at least 4 Canadian seniors have posted resumes for review today.

The basics:

Rising Senior at Canadian University that has a target business program, Econ major

No finance internships; I know my shit though, did Wall-Street Prep, I know my technicals down packed

Have some connections at smaller Toronto/Vancouver boutiques(IBD) ; getting ready to get my resume out there.

Targeting small boutiques ( 50 employees) for IBD, Merchant banking, Corp. Fin

Resume isn't actually 2 pages and the spaces aren't messed up, razume hates me

I'd appreciate if anyone can give me some pointers of what I can do differently in the next year (other than improve my GPA) to make myself more competitive.

Thanks in advance,

What's your cumulative GPA? People will assume it's significantly lower if you leave it off.

Nothing really financ-y on your resume.

And PS - i did that silly SWP program way back when as well. Definitely feel free to embellish it on your resume i.e. did all accounting and finance work for a $50k annual business. Point is to focus on it not being a painting job but one where you could delegate, multi task, work super long hours, and take shit from clients (assuming your experience was similar to mine..) Cant believe that whole firm is still in existence though.. they should fail pretty soon.

Some would even say you are overqualified.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

Touché, Flake... I didn't mean that I have anything that people who have done banking internships (structured or unstructured) don't have in that regard, or even that my knowledge necessarily lives up to students who did SA stints....

However, if given the opportunity to interview I doubt I'd have too much trouble getting through technicals for banking.

N.B. As I was a Finance major but switched to Economics (I was sick of HR/Marketing/Org Behaviour and other assorted stupid business classes), how do I spin the fact that I'm a non-business major at a school with such a well recognized business program?

Thanks again,
