ROAST MY CV
Hello everyone. I just finished my first year of uni in the UK. I will be applying for IBD summer internships for the second years. I need my CV to be at its best. If you don't mind, can you please look at my CV and give some tips on how to improve it ?

Hey omar.ayvaz, sorry about the delay, but are any of these useful:
More suggestions...
You're welcome.
Going from the top:
- I would remove the link to the LinkedIn profile.
- Have your expected grade for your degree and any notable modules with high scores.
- Can rewrite some of the bullet points under professional exp to read nicer. Would look at fellow peers' CVs / recent grads in the industry / uni alumni.
- Sell yourself a bit more with the Karate black belt, rarely any candidates will have anything remotely as impressive.
- Can potentially reorganise your last couple of sections. I have extracurricular exp as one section, and skills, activities and achievements as another.
- Not sure how much value add the M&A / PE society position is adding, given your CS and AM exp. I would expand on the leadership and volunteering positions listed, they seem interesting.
- Would remove IT skills in the last section, unless something notable.
- Check for all formatting/spelling errors, can spot a few at first glance. Print the CV out, easier to check.
In general, focus on pointing out the unique experiences you have. At this stage, most CVs passing the standard benchmark will look very similar. Aim to showcase something unique you have done.
Hello!
Thank you so much for your reply. It was really helpful. If you do not mind, can you please share some ideas on how to expand the Black Belt part?
Some Info: I did shotokan karate for 8.5 years (started when I was 7). I have 16 medals from 40+ competitions. City champion in my home country (once). Have visited 3 countries to attend different competitions. Taught me A LOT of pressure/stress control at a very young age.
I do Shotokan Karate myself and won competitions, for me what I put down was mentoring. Idk bout you but for our club when you reach brown/black belt your expected to mentor the juniors. Hope that helps.
