Should I mention that my internship company is owned by KKR?

Hello everyone. I am updating my resume after a recent internship, and I am wondering whether or not I should mention that it is a subsidiary of KKR. It might be a good keyword to have on my resume for bots, but I also am not sure if it would turn off any human readers.

If you were reviewing a resume, and the candidate mentioned that the company they previously interned in was owned by a prominent private equity group, would that make you dump the resume or keep reading?

It could definitley be the type of keyword a bot would recognize, but could also be looked upon poorly by a human reader who would make the connection that you threw it on there just for recognition. What do you mean subsidiary, please expand? Do you have any interaction at all with KKR? Throwing "KKR subsidiary" is a little cheesy, but maybe you could say "subisidiary of top PE firm." After giving more thought, if a human reader knew the subisidary had nothing to do with KKR than that could backfire.

do you mean portfolio company?

By a subsidiary, I mean it is a portfolio company. It is owned by KKR, but I have never interacted with any employees of said company in my day-to-day activities. I was thinking of writing company here || A KKR Portfolio Company. Thanks for your thoughts so far.

don't mention KKR. at a stretch mention it's a PE owned firm and segue that into PE, LBOs and strategy

That might be an interesting route to take. So, do you mean that on the resume I can mention it is PE owned, then when asked about it on an interview (if it is with a PE firm) flow conversation towards topics you mentioned?

you can tie that into your story if you are interested in banking/pe.

"the company i work for is owned by KKR and that is what really sparked my interest in M&A/investment banking. I look backed on articles on the acquisition, to see why the deal took place, was it auctioned or negotiated, which investment banks advised on the deal, what sorts of multiples were being paid, who were the key players, what was the deal structure, etc? I enjoyed the transactional nature of the business, so i asked myself where I can pursue this as a career"

something like that, maybe you can reach out to an associate/vp at KKR who covers your company for some insight? I honestly don't think anyone would care if you had (portfolio company of KKR) on your resume. it can't hurt. just don't over market it.

agreed. no one would care if you work for a portfolio company. but implementing it into your story sounds like a good idea. however, i would do this during your interview, rather than your resume.
