Sophomore Non-Target Resume Review

Guys, would you mind taking a quick look at my resume? Seeking a summer internship in IBD/PE/HF (small local boutique shops)

Thanks

FalconYou might want to block your school name and the firms you've worked for to keep anonymity.

Resume looks pretty solid with an adequate level of experience for a sophomore. GPA is a bit on the low end, hopefully you can start fresh at your transferred school to boost it up.

Agreed. Raymond you probably want to replace your resume with blocked out company names

Looks like you have some great experience. Agreed that GPA is on the low-end, but your experience/extra curriculars coupled with strong networking should make up for it.

Suggestions: 1. You've been at Bentley for a semester now - why isn't your GPA listed? 2. Put "Concentration in...Economics" from Bryant Uni. on the same line as the major 3. Add many more bullets to your IB experience. Add any selected transactions if you have some deal-specific experience. You want to highlight this as much as possible 4. Would only have 1-2 bullets for Wall St. Training, or consider removing it completely - you already have IB experience and don't want to come across as a finance-guru wannabe (will make your technicals harder, i.e. if they ask about LBOs, break up valuation, etc. since you have it written) 5. Seeking Alpha editor is awesome - would consider substituting Wall. St. Training with this experience and highlight 1 or 2 articles you wrote 6. Put "Other" in front of "Activities" in the additional info. section. I would keep this only 1 line

Thanks guys, not too worried about my name being out there - its incredibly easy to find since I do a lot on the net under my username.

Regarding my resume; I also worked at a public golf course doing maintenance 6 days per week over the summer in addition to my pwm internship. Is this something I could put on there in substitution of something else? I know I don't want to look like a finance wanna-be so I was considering putting this on there but it has no relevancy to any of the internships I'm applying to and I think something more relevant (like the Seeking Alpha Contributing Author) would do me more good. What are your thoughts on that?

Thanks again

Your first bullet for experience should be in the present tense (since you're presumably still working there). Also, change "Responsibilities included..." to a verb
