Would having "Boxing Club" be irrelevant for IB internship recruiting

Currently attending a Uni (Target School), and I was curious if it would make my application stand out as far as extracurriculars go, to have it on my resume. Personally, I believe being the founder and president of "x University Boxing Club." shows community building as actual leadership experience.

Ive been an assistant coach at 3 different boxing gyms for and have been boxing for 7 years, so it's not a half-ass club.

I removed boxing from my CV as to some people it can make you look violent ahah

That’s why I actually started it. I wanted to remove the negative connotation that boxing has about being such a violent sport. Also, it was more of a self-confidence thing for students at the school to come out of their shell

Also, I feel like context matters the most in this situation because it’s in a leadership position

Had boxing on my resume when I was recruiting. I have a couple fights (5+) as well. Found it worked very well to my benefit, when it came to standing out and building rapport with my interviewers. If you can speak to the sport well, and follow combat sports generally I would keep it.

Ok good to know, I currently have 4 fights lol. When you had it on your résumé, did you have it as an extracurricular or an extracurricular through your school?

Keep it.

I had a bunch of great professional experiences on my resume until that very last position of "Founder of the fishing club". Literally every single interview I've ever been in has touched on fishing more than everything else on my resume combined. I had a buddy land a few interviews and coffee chats because he had "Clash of Clans" listed on his special interest line. Another guy had duck hunting and spent his whole superday talking about that.
