650 GMAT for IB
Is a 650 gmat score to low? I will be going to B school this fall and was wondering if having scored a 650 will ruin my chances of getting a job in IB. I have quantitative work experience and educational background, but I am wondering if the GMAT will outweigh the rest.
No problem if you join a target school, if you can't then make sure to grab a good internship during summers
That's what I thought. Thanks! I'll spend my time networking.
I'll study for a month and retake it. I know I could have done better. Better safe than sorry.
Yes, that is too low. You are at high risk of getting left out via filter; I'd retake it by Christmas break of 1Y. I ended up doing the same to make sure I was good for consulting recruiting.
I keep hearing it's important for consulting, but then I hear networking and following the routine recruiting schedule that others went through at your school is more important for banking. Every time I read about a GMAT cutoff, consulting firms are mentioned. I want to make sure I'm not wasting my time studying for the GMAT, when I could be networking or preparing some other way for the interviews.
I feel confident that I can show my quantitative abilities through other things on my resume, but I am worried that there are cutoffs that will not let me get to that.
It's only April. You can do both
