Advice on Spring Weeks

Hello all,

I'm attending the University of St. Gallen in a couple of weeks, and I read that I should apply to the spring weeks to secure internships and network. The thing is that my grades from high school (Gymnasium) are not very good. I don't have job experience or anything, so I was wondering if I could do something to improve my chances.

My Grade is a 4.57 on the swiss scale, which is equivalent to ≈ 3.1 DE, ≈ 6.8 NL, ≈12.2 FR, ≈51 UK, ≈19.5 IT, a B (≈ 3) US

If it's relevant, I am fluent in German and English and can speak French and Chinese

I took a gap year in the USA if that helps my case.

All answers are appreciated!

Yeah, I didn't concentrate at all in school and didn't really care about my grades due to unis here taking anyone for the first year. Yeah if it helps my dad is on the board of directors of a BB bank but for my application, I won't mention it. I think this is just a missed opportunity due to these weeks being so important. Do you think if I ace my first exams at uni, I can get another shot?

Thank you for your reply, i'll definetly ask my dad if he can do something. Otherwise ill just have to try in my schools Banking Days to get a SA Internship.

Thank you for your reply.

I understand, that the Banking Days won't help in getting an internship directly, but aren't they there for networking and getting to know the companies? Maybe this will help with getting internships (I dont have any experience myself with Banking Days, so feel free to correct me).

Yeah, leaving out the high school GPA sounds like a good idea. Thank you.

The Banking Days are overrated imo. Most of the times they only accept 2nd year students or older. Can't hurt to apply tho!
