Barcelona School of Economics worth it (Econ Master)

Hey guys,

I have been admitted to BSE Econ Master and I am unsure if I should accept it.

My longterm goal is to either go for a good PhD in the US or to place into the Research/Macro Departments/Central Banks (or to go into PE - did a internship in a Mm fund before and also found it interesting)

Im a europoor so i could fund the tuition fee (17k) but i dont want to waste money.

Alternative would be Mannheim or Bonn which dont have tuition fees but take 2 yrs

Thanks for ur help

Have alumnus of the program reached your stated goals? Check Linkedin.
Is there testimonials on the program website?
Is there many publications from people in the progra, the professors?

An Econ msc and then PhD does well for your stated goals, PE is not very likely. Never heard of the school so hard to judge.

Are you German? Are fees really that expensive? My buddy at WU Vienna the masters fee is like 200 euro a year. Believe Erasmus is 13k, is 1yr program.

According to their alumni page the placement does not seem to be too bad and roughly aligns with my goals.

Going by RePec BSE is a top 10 econ institution worldwide, especially regarding macroecoonomics.

I am German, in Mannheim I would not have to pay anything, but it would take 2 years instead of 1 and the placement is not as good I think.
