BC vs UVA

I need the full rundown of where I should go. I like BC as a school a little more than uva to an extent. Uva is big, and i come from a small school so I would like something more mid-size such as BC. But on the other hand, UVA is better for IB recruiting from what I here. What is the recruiting like at BC. Will I have opportunities, or will I have much higher chances coming from uva.

Both are great schools.

BC tuition is quite pricey… Maybe if you qualify for in state tuition at UVA it might be a huge factor for picking UVA.

Definitely make a pro and cons list for each school. BC’s location is way more beneficial then UVA. Also, it does impact you greatly for recruitment and placement if you ultimately cannot get into UVAs business school. Of course it is really competitive and hard to get into McIntire. I’m sure you will do fine at either school, good luck!

Thanks for your reply. Regarding your comment about Mcinitire and placement, I have heard the opposite. I have talked to a couple uva students who said it doesn’t matter if ur in mcintire since the recruiting process is so early. Where’d you get that information though, maybe your right.

Had a buddy who went to UVA as an Econ major. He was asked during interviews why he was not in the business school and chose to major in Econ. McIntire just makes recruitment a lot easier. Although on campus recruitment is wide spread at UVA (not just specific to McIntire), Econ majors statistically make less than McIntire students and you could find this in the data and reports published by UVA. I’d reach out to a current UVA student for more recent and thorough information regarding it.

mcintire student here. this is completely false, does not matter for IB recruiting at all.

Making this decision rn and personally UVA has a reputation for being very stressful, keep that in mind, but from what I’ve seen it has better placement for top firms- but if you’re out of state… that’s a tough one because it will be very expensive probably.

Current UVA student here. Obviously I'm biased, but the only reason I can see to take BC is if its about financials. I love it here and wouldn't transfer even if you offered me Wharton

Is it true UVA is stressful? All the VA schools seem to be very academically rigorous. Not applying because of OOS, but just wondering.

It really depends what you make of it. Theres a lot of work to be done but if you manage it well and work hard, you'll be fine. If you try to finesse exams and wait til the last minute, you will absolutely fail. All up to you.
