(Both offer received) London Business School MiF vs Cambridge MFin
Hello guys,
I know there are similar posts in the forum but they seem to be outdated (~2013), so I thought it might be a good idea to create a new post for discussion. As the title mentioned, I have an offer from London Business School MiF and Cambridge Judge MFin so I am deciding which school I should pick.
For my background, I am 26 years old Asian with work experience in Big Four Corporate Finance and currently working at a Fintech startup for capital raising & corporate development. I am targeting IB jobs in London after grad (I am also open to working in Asia in case if it doesn't work out).
I have come up with some Pros & Cons for each school:
LBS
Pros:
- Based in London and will go hard in networking (depends on COVID situation)
- Probably one of the best business school in Europe (For Masters)
- Excellent networking events and student activities
- Strong alumni network globally
Cons:
- Less well known in Asia
- More expensive as the living standard in London is high
Cambridge Judge
Pro:
- Great campus life
- Great programme structure (Consulting project working with large corp directly, etc.)
- Also excellent networking events
- Higher employment stats to IB
- More well known globally
Cons
- Judge's business school is fairly new and lower ranking (Based on FT)
(Disclaimer: I didn't plan to apply for MBA solely because I am looking for a finance specialised degree.)
Would be great to hear advice from you guys. Many thanks in advance.
Just a quick comment on cons of LBS. It's fairly well known in Asia i.e. no one is gonna stop you coz you are from LBS in Asia
Dude cmon ... LBS! I honestly don’t know how this is even a question.
LBS is a notch above Cambridge for business education.
+ you can get into optional courses with other LBS students (MBA, MFA etc..) for better networking.
LBS, no brainer!
