Based on previous WSO threads, here are some insights and advice for a Capital One BA internship:

  1. Power Day Preparation: Expect a mix of case-based and behavioral interviews. For case problems, focus on structured thinking and practice common business scenarios like weighted average problems. For behavioral questions, prepare examples that showcase problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership.

  2. Product Interview: This typically involves understanding Capital One's products and how they approach customer-centric solutions. Be ready to discuss product design, customer experience, and data-driven decision-making. Brush up on basic statistics and analytics concepts.

  3. Networking: Use the internship to connect with analysts and associates. Coffee chats and informal conversations can provide valuable insights into the company culture and career paths.

  4. Logistics: Ensure you're clear on the schedule and expectations for Power Day. Arrive prepared with questions about the role and the team to show genuine interest.

If you're looking for more specific examples or advice, you might find additional insights in the WSO forums. Good luck with your internship!

I’ve heard intern LOB is randomly assigned. If I get a return could I switch into a more desirable LOB (like credit card if I don’t get it during internship). How many different tasks are you working on a week? Is it a new task daily or more than once a day or is it one major project for the entirely of the internship. I won’t be 21 during the time of my internship. Did you find that other interns went out a lot (and if so what’s the culture with me using a fake id to go with them). How is performance measured (is it quantitative or based on how good your relationship is w manager)? Who decides if you get a return (team members and managers who know you or people that aren’t directly connected to you)? What was the return offer rate like?
