Career Crossroads: Picking the Perfect Career Path

Hi guys,

I’m currently doing a bachelor in Economics and Management in a non target uni in Milan; after 2 years of a bachelor in physics I decided to change and now, at the age of 23, I’m at the second year (GPA=27/30). I’m going to do an internship in a Big 4 between March and August. In addition, I have a leadership role in a Junior Enterprise of my uni, and I worked at an italian insurance company for 2 months as a summer internship.

I want to ask your opinion about the following choices:

1) I graduate in September (graduating in 2 years instead of 3) and trying to apply, with that GPA and CV, to the MacFin at St. Gallen or to the Master in Finance at Nova SBE (I have doubts about Nova’s placement outside Portugal and the reputation of MacFin compared to the MBF).

2) I Graduate in March 2025, enriching my profile with a semester abroad in a target university, another stage (I hope in IB) and a higher GPA (≈28.5). In this case, I will try to apply to the MBF and MacFin at St. Gallen (I know MBF is better but I think I don’t have many chances to enter and I’m also very interested in the subjects taught in the MAcFin) to the Master in Finance and Investments at RSM, and to the Master in International Finance at Nova SBE.

My final goal is to break into VC industry passing through MBB or IB and I’m very interested in exploring the opportunity of the Swiss market (Netherlands would be my second choice of interest) and of course I’m aware I will need to learn the local language.
Thanks to everyone that will help me decide what’s a better path to take.
I’m open to any suggestions and tips!
