CEGEP student in Quebec trying to figure out how to apply to Ivey.

Ivey is the biggest finance target from what I’ve seen and honestly looks like a beautiful campus and city. I’ve been wondering how I can apply as a *CEGEP student and the info online doesn’t help as much as I’d like it too. I’m going to be applying to university in 1-2 years and according to their site they either only accept applications from high schoolers with a 90%+ average or transfers from university students with a 80%+ average and a business course prerequisite. For most of the other finance undergrads I’d be able to apply as a “university student” (Waterloo,Concordia, U of Alberta etc) but according to their site of listed acceptable business prerequisites CEGEP does not show up. Only McGill and Concordia do. Does this mean my only option is to go to university and apply during year 1-2?

Also why/how much harder is it to apply if your taking a undergrad in commerce. Personally it seems like a stupid decision to apply to a degree unrelated to finance in order to have better prospects at being accepted by Ivey if I know I want a career in finance. I rather start my career at a Semi/Non Target and work my way into those roles through the corporate role then waste 2 years if things don’t work out the ideal way. Am I missing something?

Anyone have any answers/comments to make regarding my questions and situation. Any answers are truly appreciated and valued by me. I have no family members who went to university let alone finance so I feel abit lost and discouraged honestly. Seems like if I don’t get into a target my chances of getting a fulfilling finance job may be significantly lower. (Again I don’t know shit and get all my info online so 💀 I may be wrong about this as well).

Honestly not sure what you're trying to say here. Are you trying to apply directly to Ivey as a second year uni student, or apply to AEO? It doesn't matter which program you're doing for the first two years before you start Ivey...

On Ivey’s website they say that it may be harder to transfer over after 2 years if your taking a commerce/finance degree elsewhere. If that’s not true then disregard that part of my comment because It means I was mistaken. Thank you for the reply btw!
