college/career advice
I am currently finishing my junior year at a very non-target in NY studying finance. GPA is 3.3, major GPA is 3.5, and both will be higher by the time I graduate next summer. I haven't been able to get an internship but not for lack of trying, I've applied to dozens and dozens of places. Regardless, since I'll be graduating in a year, I was hoping to gain insight on what others have done in this scenario. I am willing to work in any finance setting involving the stock market, even if it's just cold calling clients. I am researching MSF programs in New York (Baruch, NYU, Pace, Rotchester, etc) and will take CFA exams and/or Series 7&63, assuming I need to.
Any advice on how to better prepare myself to get into finance and what to do after I graduate would be greatly appreciated, and any of your experiences would be great to hear. Thank you.
"I am willing to work in any finance setting involving the stock market, even if it's just cold calling clients" good to keep an open mind, but you need more focus
"I am researching MSF programs in New York (Baruch, NYU, Pace, Rotchester, etc)" not a bad idea. are you sure you want to do an MSF?
"will take CFA exams and/or Series 7&63, assuming I need to" probably a waste of time
