Columbia/Stern with low-quant
Everyone says these two schools are for finance people, and I work in education. I have a 740 GMAT (q47, v46). My quant score is probably high enough, but I only have two quant courses (one is UCLA Extension) and work in education where I hardly ever use quant skills at work. Are these schools more of a reach than most given my lack of quant, or are they more likely to be interested in me since I don't fit their stereotype?
You're fine. Columbia actually strongly prefers liberal arts majors (e.g. education) than business majors for admissions, if you look at the undergrad majors of its mba class. They care about the 740, which is going to put you ahead of most other education people in their applicant pool, not the splits.
47Q with 740 overall should be fine, especially since you're liberal arts. Just focus on other parts of your app.
A 740 is a 740. Replace Stern with Fuqua or Tuck
