Community college -> State School -> Top MSF -> PE?

I am a rising junior at a top state school in my state, double majoring in finance and economics, possessing a 3.7 GPA. Before being enrolled at my current institution, I attended cc for 3 years (due to having severe depression) and finished with a 3.3. I am currently interning in PE for both the summer and fall and plan to network my way into an IB or PE internship for the winter/spring; I am also in the middle of interviewing for IB SA 2022 recruiting.

Should I get a top master's in finance (Vandy, Austin, USC,) after my senior year (I'll be 24) to land a PE analyst role? Would it be an issue if I went to CC?

Looking forward to your responses!

The only MSF that would give you a shot at landing PE right after graduation is MIT Mfin, and even that's a miniscule chance. You're not going to land a FO PE role straight out of Vandy, UT Austin, or USC MSF programs. Heck, you might not even get IB from some of these programs. Take a look at USC's placement report because it's quite mediocre considering how much tuition you'll be paying.

As a recent graduate of the Vandy MSF, I can tell you that multiple people in my class accepted PE roles in SF and beyond. Over half the class went IB, not sure what the above is all about. That being said, MIT MFin is a much stronger probability of going PE straight out of the MSF and the cache of firms you'll have recruiting opportunities with will be better.

PE Analyst role right out of Masters? Possible - but very hard. You need to play your cards right, network A LOT, be the best out of that master's program.

Most PE roles are filled by previous IB guys, so that would be the way to go. Bachelors -> Masters -> IB -> PE
