Cornell vs Georgia Tech

Accepted OOS for both, currently accepted for engineering for both. I want to break into consulting, hopefully MBB firms. At Cornell, I would major in Operations Research and Information Engineering currently, may need to try to transfer into Dyson/CAS Economics. At Georgia Tech, I plan on doing Industrial Engineering.

Intended major: Economics (CAS) or ORIE at Cornell, Industrial Engineering at Tech

Costs: Full for both: Cornell (~$92,000/yr), Georgia Tech (~$54,000/yr)

Cornell Pros:

  • Prestige, Ivy League brand, best Ivy League engineering program
  • Really good Wall Street placement (if not consulting), Ivy alumni network
  • More opportunities to explore outside of STEM

Cornell Cons:

  • Not sure how good ORIE is for business jobs specifically
  • May need to transfer into Dyson from Engineering to be competitive for consulting, or transfer into Economics in the College of Arts & Sciences
  • Ranked lower according to PeakFrameworks MBB Consulting Target Schools

Georgia Tech Pros:

  • Industrial Engineering at Tech (#1 Ranked) seems to be a major target for only Atlanta-based MBB consulting firms, but many opportunities for other consulting companies outside MBB like Deloitte, Accenture, etc
  • Entrepreneurship scene is a bonus
  • Weather/Cost

Georgia Tech Cons:

  • IE at Tech seems to be a target for only Atlanta-based MBB consulting firms
  • Not as much prestige in general since it is not an Ivy League school
  • Dorms/food isn't as good

Which school should I commit to?
