German pupil want to get freshman

Hey guys,

About me: I'am a german pupil and i will graduate in june. After my graduation i want to study economics focused on finance, in the UK or in the United States. I have informed myself about the TOEFL and the SAT, but i got problems with the selections of the universitys.
I am searching sth like the bentley university, with a trading room also for undergraduated students.
Is bentley the only university with sth like that?Or are there also a comparable universitys in the uk (or some more in the US)?
Has sb got some tips for applying at bentley because my english is not the best. Is there a good chance getting in there?

Greetings and thanks for your respond.

Not knowing English is actually a benefit if you're applying to US/UK schools (just make sure that someone proof-reads your essays).

But accent will fukk you in the ass during internship/FT job hunt. If you are German and have never lived in English-speaking country, then you are basically screwed. If you still want it bad, then you better major in Communication/English on top of Finance.

Stern does not have a trading room and it's always had far less of a reputation for S&T than banking, it's a finance factory in the vein of Wharton (even rolled out concentrations instead of majors for classes of 2015 and on) with a HUGE boutique factor due to location and alum representation, but it's rare to see kids come out with top S&T offers. i.e. BarCap IBD has this huge relationship where there's both a 100% return offer and return offer acceptance rate with Stern SAs, the only bank on the street and the only school to boast that figure, but S&T (one of the best trading franchises on the Street) is basically nonexistent on-campus.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

The reason why S&T is less represented in Stern than IBD is the same reason why there are less kids from Brown and Caltech in Wall street:

Supply and Demand.

At least from what I've seen, Sternies who target S&T land them very well except that 90% of Sternies want investment banking, not S&T. In the same sense, you will see a lot more Finance/Accounting, Finance/economics or Finance/Intl Business majors than you will see Finance/Stats/Math majors.

this is the crappiest criterion for choosing a college I've ever heard. Reputation, location, campus, parties,... sry Digga, aber ein trading room ist echt ein schlechter Grund. There is more to life than a trading room.

hey guy's,

Thanks for the fast responds... In fact i have lived in india and malaysia for 4 years so my accent is not that shit.

And to Cdawg: thanks for youn nice commen, but first of all i am looking for a university with a trading room and than for the best party... sorry but thats order (:

But i got an other question: is there any ranking about trading rooms?

sorry that i am so horny about trading rooms... but here in germany this is very unusual...and this is also one reason for me going to the US

greetings and thanks for your responds

This is probably true. I haven't met that many kids here interested in trading. Interesting though, I'll be summering in both and almost everyone I told invariably expressed surprise to see that I got the firm I did, not many place into it. Probably more to do with desire than lack of opportunity.
