Hardest Schools?
Where have you guys heard that academics are the most difficult from people at banks or PE firms? Doesn’t have to be just US schools

Caltech, UChicago, MIT
UC Berkeley, NYU Stern, CMU all have grade deflation
Can confirm. I’m at NYU (not in Stern), but have taken a couple Stern classes and the Econ department’s curve is about the same grade distribution (even worse since 30% max get A/A- instead of 35%) and it’s annoying af.
Northwestern (other than SESP)
Caltech, MIT, Cornell for STEM
Which ever school my MD's son went to
UofT has pretty rigorous grading policies, especially in their STEM programs. From my experience in uni (Canada) professors always aimed for a C average in their courses. I don’t know if this is the same in the states.
Oxford and Cambridge + top Asian schools. US schools are generally known to have grade inflation, and the only hard part is getting in
In the U.S the only resumes where I would respect a 3.5 GPA are from MIT, Caltech, and UChicago. Grade inflation is rampant unfortunately - I’d need to see tough coursework or extenuating circumstances to justify anything less than a 3.7+ elsewhere
