Help! Target School/D1 (lowish GPA)- Wait or go now?

Hi all, I am a sophomore at a target school - a D1 athlete, a semi-leadership role in a student investment fund, and an upcoming summer internship at a large AM firm in institutional distribution. I screwed up my GPA freshman year, so I’m climbing back but currently have a 3.2 as an Econ/Poli Sci major. I want to recruit for cap mkt/ lower middle market IB, but I’m not sure whether to continue networking now or wait to apply until May, when my grades will come back and my GPA will likely rise to a 3.35-3.4.

Should I continue networking now with my lower GPA, or should I slow down a little and start my applications in a couple months when the GPA rises? Given the low GPA, am I shutting myself out of opportunity by leveraging my network now, or would I be waiting too long to recruit if I start after the semester ends?
