How good is Dartmouth?

This article made it seem like Dartmouth isn't good enough for elite IB and consulting jobs (I am a new user so I can't post links, but the title is "How to get “elite” jobs: Dartmouth is not good enough" - written in 2015). However, many previous threads on WSO say Dartmouth is a target school at equal level with Yale and Duke. These threads about Dartmouth, however, are from a few years back (before Dartmouth started slipping in the rankings and public view). Also, it seems like most people who wrote good things about Dartmouth were former alumni. So how good is Dartmouth today, and is it still an elite target school? Sorry if I offend anyone, just thinking of where to early decision to.

Is this a serious question? I am really hoping that you are simply an incredibly unimaginative troll. But, assuming it by some chance is serious, yes Dartmouth is easily a target school for every major investment bank (BBs and EBs) and MBB (as well as every top major consultancy, hell Dartmouth alumni founded Parthenon).

Looking at the article it is insanely poorly researched and written and somehow writes off Dartmouth and MIT and pretty much every non-HYP university (even slights Stanford). This is beyond asinine and has literally no basis in reality.

Dartmouth is just below HPSW according to many people. One of the very best schools in terms of placement (especially given the small size of D's student body). Also one of the strongest alumni networks and a flexible schedule that makes it very easy to get internships. If you like the school, apply. You won't be sacrificing any opportunities from what I've read repeatedly on this site and been told by multiple alumni.

Dartmouth alum here. The replies here are directionally correct; Dartmouth for all intents and purposes is undoubtedly a target school.

That being said, when I was going through recruiting, not every BB recruited there--I believe Barclays and UBS didn't do on campus recruiting. (I think the small size and remote location makes the return too low for companies that take the view that they can go to a UMichigan, interview 200 kids and take 20).

Honestly once you get to Dartmouth, have a decent GPA and / or make the right connections, you can get some sort of finance, if not IB, gig as long as you're willing to knock on enough doors. Yes, Goldman, MS recruit very heavily. JPM and BAML are there too, but I feel like I have classmates all over the street (MMs, EBs, etc).
