How is a post-MBA career in consulting (MBB or T2)

Context: I currently work in investment banking (non-BB) in APAC. Both my girlfriend and I want to go back to the U.S. --- we both went to college in the US, and in my context also got my master's degree and worked in a major financial hub for a couple years.

My long term goal is entrepreneurship or SMB owner --- operate my own thing. Post-MBA investment banking is not really attractive to me because I know the hours too well. I also don't care that that much for buyout PE, but have an interest in tech/consumer type of growth equity.

What Bschools are the best for consulting recruiting? How's life and promotion cycles for post-MBA consultants?
