How Prestigious is Boston College Undergrad?

Hi everybody! I was just wondering how the Carroll School of Management, and to some extent Boston College as a whole, stack up in the grand scheme of schools. While I know it was just ranked #3 for undergraduates in Businessweek, and that prestige is a generally subjective concept, I just wanted to get a feel for where CSOM stands relative to other programs.

Is it top-notch, or would you argue that it's just a step below the elite level? How well are students recruited, and where do they usually go? Does it lead to strong MBA programs after graduation? I absolutely loved Boston College when I visited, but it does interest me to know this as an applicant, so any insight you could provide would be awesome. Thanks!!

Yeah probably should never be described as prestigious in this context and probably more than "just a step" below elite level. Does not recruit well compared to the more well-known business programs. Don't look to those rankings...they're considered a joke by pretty much every school / employer that didn't get mistakenly put in the top 5 (except maybe UVA). Tradingonwheels couldn't even get the abbreviation right haha (unless the use of "BS" instead of "BC" was meant to be a commentary on the rankings).

Not to bash on the school, only trying to answer the question as truthfully as possible. Overall, it's a fine college and well-regarded in the area - just happens to be a bit weaker in FO finance recruiting.
