Im struggling to chose the right major to complement finance. Any suggestions?

Im a rising sophomore with an intended major of Finance and Economics. However, I'm unsure about what path to follow. I want to break into IB, PE and VC. I find studying Econ and Finance sort of redundant. (Unsure if this is the case in real life). I'm also an international student and it helps if I have a STEM degree to get a VISA extension. I'm considering dropping Econ and picking up Math as a second major in addition to Finance. Is this a good move? I'm willing to work as hard a the degree requires, however I don't know what is the best move and I'm seeking guidance.

Completely agree. Econ and Math or Econ and Stat are much better combos.

If you want to keep the Finance, pick up a MIS or CS minor to be more prepared for side-effects of the megatrends we are seeing. Just finished up consulting internship, and it made me way more aware of how important those skills are coming into the workforce.
