Is 3.6 GPA too low?
For top MBAs such as HBS and GSB, if I get a really high GMAT score, would the low GPA be somehow compensated? My Major GPA is ~3.8 though. My low overall GPA is because due to personal/ health reasons, I missed exams for a intro psy class sophomore and it was too late to audit it, so I failed that class.
Would this be a hindrance?
Your GPA is fine. Don't worry about it.
Thanks Alex! Would failing a class sophomore year be a red flag on my app? If I can explain that it was due to personal/ health reasons, then it should not be a problem right?
You're fine. Don't preoccupy yourself with this.
No A 3.6 is not "too low" or an automatic deal breaker, especially if accompanied by a high GMAT and context for a sophomore year dip in grades.
