Is it too late???

hey, I'm currently a sophomore attending a mediocre school with a poor business program. I screwed up my first 3 semester doing absolutely crappy, my current GPA is around a 2.8. i had a lot of personal issues going on past year or so. i've finally gotten my priorities in check, however, I'm scared that i have already dug myself into a hole too deep to climb out and pursue my goals of working in the finance industry. I'm just looking for some advice, if anyone has been in a similar situation, i would greatly appreciate what you have to say.

Don't get scared, get going. You saying you are scared you have already dug yourself in to deep is only giving yourself an excuse to fail. Tell yourself that failure is not an option and that you will make this work. You will out hustle every other student, out network them, and outwork them period. You and only you have the option to turn your life around. Its not too late, but you need to start now.

Say you graduate with the minimum of 120 credits (you'll probably have more) and say you have taken 15 credits each of these semesters, so you have 45 already under your belt, that means you still have 75 credits left to go. If you get a 4.0 for the rest of your time it will give you an overall GPA of 3.55 not to mention that this stellar performance for the rest of the time will be able to over shadow your dismal performance in the beginning and employers will give you the benefit of the doubt that you didn't have your shit straight.

So get started. Not to mention get yourself some great summer internships wherever you can. (It will be easier once you get your grades up). Try for some boutique bank that is looking for anyone or if you know a family friend maybe try there. Any experience > no experience. It will also help you get better stints in Junior year. Also if you can handle it school wise, try looking into off summer internships. A lot less people apply for these and are therefore less competitive and gives you an opportunity to get into a better bank so that you can move up the rungs come summer of Junior year.

tl;dr - stop crying, get a 4.0 and start hustling
