Is Pre-MBA PE required for Post-MBA PE Recruiting?

I'm looking for some insight on post-MBA PE and HF recruiting. What are the backgrounds of those who land investment positions coming out of a 2-year MBA program? Does that background change if the MBA program is a top 15 vs a M7?

I have roughly 2 years investment banking experience at a large shop and 1 year experience in real estate investing at an evergreen fund. If I want to maximize my chances of landing an investment role post-MBA, do I need to be at a hedge fund/PE firm before I do my MBA? How strictly do recruiting outcomes actually follow the IB->Pre MBA PE->MBA->Post MBA PE track?

Thanks for the insight.
