IU Kelley Econ > UVA Econ

IU Economic consulting (average salary 2019) - $73,000

UVA Econ (average salary 2019) - $61,000

Around 80% of students reported their salary at both schools.

Also look at the employment reports...

IU Economic consulting (% of students doing consulting in major) - 67%

UVA Econ (% of students doing consulting in major) - 25%.

Kelley is the clear winner for Econ.

However, go to Mcintire if you can get in, as it is a better business school.

Factual. I don't understand why a lot of these high schoolers and interns hate on Kelley so much on this site.

It has consistently better employment reports than semi's like Mccombs, Mendoza, and Wake Forest and it's in Southern Indiana

Imagine thinking that IU is better than Notre Dame. As someone attending a semi-target, the absolute lengths you shills are willing to go for a low-tier school is insane.

You must go to Notre Dame. Personally, I went to a high semi-target in the west and have great respect for kelley. I work in a midwest BB and have seen a lot more Kelley grads at my bank than Notre Dame.

Nobody believes IU is better than Notre Dame you illiterate clown. We are specifically talking about business programs. Mendoza is barely better.

I'm not sure why you are cherry-picking data, but the median starting salary for Kelley grads is $63,000 vs $64,000 to for UVA ($80,000 for their business school). I would also argue that starting salary (which is comparable) doesn't even begin to capture the higher brand value someone would have going to UVA vs IU. This isn't to say IU is a bad school, but it is disingenuous to say IU is better than a school it is obviously worse than, and you're going to end up fucking over some HS kid who doesn't know any better so that you can feel better about yourself.

I don't know if the figures that OP posted are accurate but the specific poster was asking about transferring to UVA econ from Kelley economic consulting, so I wouldn't call it cherry picking.

uva student can confirm the Econ salary. Furthermore the average is skewed to the right by Econ/Comm double majors and by the 40 or so Econ/CS double majors.
