Master degree for ECM?

Hey guys,

I'm currently doing an IB finance internship at a BB. I'm looking to secure another internship and eventually start a master degree in fall 2014. My goal is ECM. There's no way I'll be able to secure an ECM internship here (switzerland) as I do not speak the language that is required and do not have a Master degree.

So I figured my best shot at ECM is to go to a top master program, get recruited, try to land an internship and then hopefully land an ECM position. London would be ideal as I speak the language :)

Does this sound like a solid plan?

If my goal is ECM, are the top schools the same as for other top finance jobs? That is LSE, Oxbridge, Warwick, HEC, Imperial, UCL,...?

thanks

Good plan. But I wouldn't say that one school would be more geared to ECM than another. At least not superficially... If you really wanted to look into it, you could investigate whether any of the universities have academics with particular research interests in ECM topics. Then you could do a paper with them.

Having said that... I've been to LSE and it was a good school, as are others mentioned. So if you do get an offer for one of those schools then that might outweigh your other desire.
