Masters at LSE or LBS - profile evaluation
Hi, planning on applying to study Masters next year, what are my chances getting into LSE or LBS finance or management programmes?
- Non-target undergrad (uk uni)2:1 economics
- Job exp. 2yrs. Big 4 TAS and 3yrs IB boutique in Europe
- 690 gmat
My gmat is quite low but maybe I’ll get extra points due to job exp. during admission process?
Thanks
LBS don't think so but LSE is possible :)
Regarding LBS, is it gmat? Or non-target undergrad?
both :(
Hmm so work exp. don’t mean shit in lbs. alright, thanks man
after 5 yoe wouldn't you be looking more at an mba rather than msc? big 4 TAS/boutique ib are desirable exits from a msc finance and you've already done both of them
Incoming student at one of those masters. As the above poster said, I don't think the MFin would be the right choice for you. Both programs target students/grads with less than 2 YOE, and LBS states that explicitly.
The programs are intended to give you a shot at summer internship or analyst recruiting.
Unless those years you mentioned were in internships, I would advice to go for an MBA at the US.
Also, just to clarify from reading the first comment, LBS places more importance in work exp. than LSE, and a 690 GMAT (although not ideal) is not a deal breaker at neither LBS/LSE and can easily be compensated with a strong profile.
Hope it helps.
