I'm interested in why do you think LSE Finance is better than LSE Finance and Risk. Is there any particular reason?

Also, do you think all of these are worth pursuing or only the top 5 pragrams?

Historically LSE MSc Finance is the more well known one... LSE then created other variants like many schools btw :)

For me only the top 5 are really worth the price. SSE is a great one that is even free ;)

Commenter above is a well-known dumbass, so here's an actual breakdown for you:

First off, the overall university brand name is more important than the course, so don't spend too much time worrying over whether to choose Finance over Finance & PE or whatever. As a general rule, plain Finance is more competitive to get into, purely because of the "prestige" factor. The courses themselves are practically identical except for one or two classes, and employers don't care much. At Imperial, for instance the F&A course has equal and at times better placements than the pure Finance program.

For London, a rough ranking would look something like this:

A: Oxford/LBS/LSE/HEC/Bocconi (if you're Italian)

B: Imperial/ESSEC/ESCP

The rest (i.e., Warwick, UCL, Bayes etc.)  are non-targets at the postgrad level, so I wouldn't bother applying.
