McGill Econ Career Prospects?
What are the career prospects for McGill Econ BA? I have heard Canadian banks recruit commerce students mostly. How would you compare McGill econ to a non-target business program?
The program you're in doesn't really affect your candidacy. I would say university reputation has way more sway (more alumni placements for example)
Does this apply for Canada? In Canada every university has business schools and targets are usually only the business schools. When I look it up in LinkedIn it’s almost always the Desautel (business school) kids in IB
I don't think it matters that much. But usually the kids in econ are the ones who couldn't get accepted to Commerce, and banks know that. But if you have strong grades and can give them a good explanation of why you're not in business, you should be fine.
