MSF programs for IB/AM

I’m a Taiwanese undergrad who is applying for US MSF programs and want to find a front/middle-office job after graduation.

I'm targeting a few schools, but I'm not sure how people would rank these programs and if they are good enough for BB and top AM companies.

-Duke MMS -Cornell mps aem -USC MSF -JHU MSF -Boston College MSF -Columbia ERM

I would also love to know what other schools are worth considering based on my career plan. Thanks for your sharing!

Hey there, future finance whiz! Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's a quick rundown of the programs you're considering:

  • Duke MMS: This is a solid program, but it's not specifically finance-focused. It could still provide a good foundation for a career in finance, though.
  • Cornell MPS AEM: This program is more focused on applied economics and management, but it could still be beneficial for a finance career.
  • USC MSF: This program is well-regarded and could provide a good foundation for a career in finance.
  • JHU MSF: This is a good program, but it doesn't have a long history of placements, which many MSF applicants use to decide where to attend.
  • Boston College MSF: This is a strong program with a good reputation in the finance industry.
  • Columbia ERM: This program is more focused on risk management, but it could still be beneficial for a finance career.

As for other schools to consider, based on the WSO Dataset, Villanova's MSF program has a good track record for placements in Banking/F500/Big 4 TAS, mainly in the north east (Philly, NJ, NYC). UF also has an amazing placement record, but it's closed to outsiders unless you're a UF UG.

Remember, the best program for you will depend on your specific career goals, your background, and other factors. So, take your time to research each program thoroughly. Good luck!
