MSF question- should i interview with Rochester? admitted by Villanova with some other prospects

Hi guys, I am pretty confused right now as how I should approach my Masters career.

So I was admitted by Nova MSF 3/28 (ish) and I am going on Friday 4/10 for the admitted student event to get a feel of the school and the incoming class. Already talked to a student and I have a great impression on this program so far.
I also got an ok scholarship from UMiami MSF 4/6 (ish), however money is not an issue for me. The program is in its second year and I'm a little worried about placement.
I have an interview with NC State Analytics program in 2 weeks. This is a finance forum so I will explain a little. This is definitely my top choice program with 100% placement rate and avg 90k salary in top tech companies, very vigorous program with a focus on SAS. I have a 60% chance getting into the program.
I'm still waiting on BC carroll MSF, which is my second choice.

I just got an interview with Rochester Simon and was invited to experience simon weekend 4/17. I feel like Villanova has a much better program in MSF despite URochester is a better school in general. Should I even go to Rochester for the interview? Also should I give UMiami MSF consideration?

I went to Emory Goizueta as a BBA(marketing/mkt analytics, chemistry) and have 1 year internship experience in a major luxury car manufacturer (better than Mercedes haha) (SQL, business intelligence, data warehousing, IT systems). Wanna work in M&A, still thinking if I wanna be on the buy-side or sell-side so either Asset Management or IB. Placement is definitely the #1 factor for me because I'm an international student and want a job immediately out of grad school.

Just kind of confused about the opportunities in front of me right now and want to see the general opinion. I have to respond to Rochester's invitation soon too... Thank you guys :)

I'll see you at the welcome event. That being said, Nova is your best shot right now. Rochester is a fine school, but their MSF is not only like 99% international, it is also in upstate NY. If you want to network or interview you will have to take a flight. I like UMiami, but I don't think they will have a ton of finance placements. I'd probably recommend the program for Florida natives since UF closed their program to outside students.

Right now Villanova is your best bet. Campus is like 15 minutes from center city and you are an hour and a half from NYC and DC. Not a bad spot to be in considering you'll have to work harder than domestic students when it comes to getting a job.

Say hi at the game.

please message me! I'm in similar shoes and I think discussions would help me too! I have MSF, MBA and MSc Analytics apps this year

I'd say first though, doesn't hurt to have an additional offer. The worst to do is to ignore its existence after you got it.

Second, I'm in the same shoes as you, because I applied to a same variety of programs. I have sent in a MSF app, and I also have a few MSc application for analytics type of program (online degree from a very solid school, not UC berkeley's program)

I'd like to point out that, the job industries for MSF and MSc have VERY DIFFERENT OUTCOMES as graduates-- don't expect too much corporate finance with MSc, and you're probably not a data analyst with MSF, unless you're towards quanty MSF (Fin.Engineering or Fin. Math). I'm sending my app part-time so it will not affect me as much as a full-time grad seeking jobs immediately

Honestly, you shouldn't pick Miami MSF. It reallys hurts your brand. You went to Emory alright, and doesn't it require more difficulty to get in than NC State? Maybe similar to Rochester? I mean, I went to nontarget, so MSF/MSc will help me more than you. And frankly, if you can get the job, you can learn a lot of things on the job to cover your weakness. I know of a alum (reminder that I'm nontarget), he went to M&A with international buisness major.... none of our finance majors made it in.

I applied to both MSF and a couple MSanalytics because I really liked finance in undergrad but I had my double major and had no time to take more courses/ realized my skill set and personality would actually thrive in the financial industry. Marketing is fun but I wasn't as creative as I thought and everything I did in marketing was extremely quant and analytical, applying to MSAnalytics just made sense to me for my background and I'm also passionate about it. The initial career path would be different out of these two programs, if I did MSF, eventually I'm leaning towards healthcare investment banking/if MSA, would be healthcare consulting/data analyst. I'm certain I want to end up in a major pharma doing Business Development(M&A with biotech cos/patents) so either these two career paths would help and I think I would enjoy both. Also yes NCState is not my ideal school but I'm talking about the program, if you just google NC State analytics you will see this program is equivalent to Northwestern/GaTech/UTAustin etc and is one of the first and best analytics program. Many MSA program now are based on NC State. SAS was developed there also. Probably not going to interview with Rochester haha, feel like location is key. Oh also I'm a fob and I can't get sponsorship for full-time that's why I'm using Masters degree as my stepping stone to get a big company to hire me so I can get sponsorship. I'm confident about my competitiveness in the job market but my citizenship status just makes it very hard. What do you wanna do with a masters degree? Are you looking to switch your career path?
