Need Advice for Breaking into AM/HF as an International MBA Grad

I'm desperate to find a job in LO/HF and would appreciate any insights or feedback.

I graduated from a T10 MBA school five months ago and have 5 years of experience as an analyst at a small long/short fund in Asia prior to MBA. During my MBA, I won one of the largest MBA stock pitch competitions. For my summer internship, I made it to final rounds with a couple of LOs and had several interviews with a Tier-1 HF but ultimately ended up working for a small VC firm.

Coming from an international background, I’ll need visa sponsorship after my STEM OPT expires, which has been a challenge. My MBA school has a small presence in AM/HF, so it's been tough to expand my network effectively.

Since graduating, I’ve been applying to job postings on LinkedIn but haven’t received one interview invite for AM/HF roles. I’ve also been cold-emailing PMs and senior analysts with my resume and stock pitch write-ups, but so far, nothing has led to an interview.

I’ve heard that firms like Fidelity and T. Rowe don’t sponsor visas, which makes me wonder if it’s nearly impossible for an MBA grad without a green card to break into AM. I've also heard that HF roles might be more flexible when it comes to visa sponsorship.

Am I missing anything in terms of networking or finding opportunities? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
