Need Advice: Graduate from Non-Target School, Lost Funding for MSF at Top Choice, Now What?

I'm currently in a bit of a tough spot and would sincerely appreciate any advice you could offer. Here's my situation:

I just graduated Summa Cum Laude and achieved several other academic accomplishments (outstanding senior etc) from a non-target university, where I was a Division 1 athlete as well (International student 2). Due to pre-season commitments, I was unable to undertake any internships during my undergraduate studies. I am doing my first summer ER Internship at a reputable Investment Bank in Europe.

The plan was to pursue a Master's in Finance (MSF) in the fall, but I've run into some issues.

I was accepted into my top choice school - a major target institution in the US. However, the sponsor who was going to assist me financially backed out at the last minute. Now, I simply can't afford to go.

My second choice - a university in Europe, didn't accept one of my courses as an equivalent to their required courses, and so my application was rejected.

My third choice, a semi-target school in Europe, did accept me.

My dream was to break into IBD, preferably in the US. However, given the funding situation, it seems difficult to pursue my studies further in US at the moment. (I am looking for more off-cycle opportunities in the fall/spring now as well)

I am currently lost and unsure about what I should do in the fall. Any advice, insight, or suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I’m stuck on you having a sponsor pay for school and them backing out ruining it for you. Is this common for international athletes?

You can’t take out loans like others who can’t afford it?

I was an athlete In undergrad, not anymore. The sponsor now is just someone who was supposed to pay for my master Studies and I don’t know if it’s common that they’re just backing out.

I did not have a full-ride in college, so I already took a bunch of loans.

Someone (not family, I assume based on term you used) was going to pay for your US grad school? What is in it for them? Seems suspect.
