Need College Advice – Mendoza or Top LAC? External Transfers?

Hey everyone, I am currently a senior in high school and have recently completed the college application process. Unfortunately, I feel like I'm in a bit of a troubling situation, and would appreciate advice from any current business students/interns/employees.

This may sound extremely foolish, but I did not entirely discover my interest in business/finance until AFTER I submitted my applications. Many of the schools that I applied to are top LACs (Amherst, Bowdoin, Middlebury, Williams – I am a legacy at one of these schools and am hopeful of admission). I also applied to Notre Dame, and shortly after realizing that I wanted to pursue an education/career in business, I emailed the admissions office and had my application placed in the Mendoza BBA pool. PROBLEM: Mendoza is the only undergrad business program that I applied to.

In researching the strength of Mendoza's undergrad program, I have found MANY mixed opinions. Some posters claim that it can place well on Wall Street, while others claim that it is an average semi-target or even a non-target. I am now kicking myself for not applying to other bba programs (Ross, Stern, Haas) that may have better job placement than Mendoza.

So, in terms of success in IB, would it be worth it to attend Mendoza, or would it be safer to attend an elite LAC? I understand that many TOP Mendoza grads get good positions on Wall Street... But what about when it comes to promotions? Once all employed, do Ross/Wharton employees get priority in promotions over Mendoza grads, regardless of job performance??

Also, how hard would it be to transfer to one of these mentioned BBA programs (Stern, Haas, etc.) coming from a school like Amherst or Williams? Would that be a better move than going with Mendoza?
